For the last two years, I've done December Daily. I would print the photos, put them in the album with the stories and never look at the photos again, or do anything else with them. But I have SO MANY Christmas products it's almost overwhelming, so this year (of course) I bought more and used barely any of them. It seems to take me forever to get through them, but I really am trying and that's all that matters, so I pulled some pieces out and made this layout.
I had this photo of Gracie laying under the tree and while I told this story in December Daily, I wanted to tell it again and put more emphasis onto how much she loves the tree skirt. Seriously, I might have to leave the tree up forever just so she can lay on the tree skirt. I've never seen her so happy.
I love this snowflake pattern paper so much. At first I thought it might be too busy, and I still sort of feel that way, but I kept everything else mostly simple and in a horizontal line, so I think it works just fine.
I stamped the date on the tag and added a chipboard star. I added other gold bits to form a triangle and I'm pleased with how it looks. Though other's would say I need more than one embellishment in a "cluster" making a triangle, but I'm simple and I'm pleased with this.
I added the acrylic December Memories piece from Color Cast Designs straight onto the photo and tucked a journal card under the edge of the photo. I didn't want to try and compete with the busyness of the background paper, but I still wanted to tell this story. It's simple, so much my style, and used a few pieces from my stash.
My One Little Word this year is Open (you can read about it here) and part of that means opening my containers of embellishments, and actually USING them. I need to stop hoarding and start using.
Thank for coming by to see this super simple layout. Outside of December Daily I struggle a little bit with Christmas projects, but I'm working on it.
